CHICAGO, ILL. -- Chicago Mayor Richard Daley says his wife is "feeling much better" after a recent leg operation in her ongoing fight against cancer.
Daley says Maggie Daley will seek rehabilitation for her leg.
An orthopedic oncologist performed Friday's procedure at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago to address pain in Maggie Daley's right leg.
A titanium rod was inserted into her leg to reduce the risk of fracture.
Daley has had radiation treatment in that leg to treat a cancerous bone lesion.
Chicago's first lady has been fighting metastatic breast cancer since 2002.
