HANNIBAL, MO. -- Hannibal could see at least two flood gates in place as early as Monday.
We talked with Emergency Management Director John Hark Sunday afternoon. He says the city may install the flood gates at Center and Hill Streets Monday afternoon, after evaluating new crest predictions that morning.
Right now the river is expected to crest Tuesday night or Wednesday morning at 21.3 feet.
Here is an idea of where the city stands right now. Sixteen feet is the techinical flood stage for the city of Hannibal. At 20.5 feet, the flood gates at Center and Hill Streets are to be put in place.
At 21.5 feet, the city installs all five flood gates into the flood wall.
