NEWARK, MO. -- Missouri 1st district representative Brian Munzlinger wants a new job.

Saturday afternoon Munzlinger announced his intention to become the senator for Missouri's 18th district.

Term limits in Missouri are bringing his time as a representative to a close. But Munzlinger says that he would like to stick around and deal with some of the big challenges facing the state.

Those challenges include the state budget and a push to reformat the way state government in Missouri operates.

Munzlinger says that Missouri has unique opportunity to make some important changes that will move the state forward for years to come. And he wants to make sure that concerns of the 18th district are a part of that discussion.
