DONNELLSON, IA. -- Donnellson is looking for volunteers on Earth Day, April 24, to help with roadside cleanup of highways 2 and 218.  This is part of the North Lee County cleanup.

Help also is needed for the Railroad Park spring landscaping cleanup.  Bring rakes, hand tools and paintbrushes.

All volunteers should meet at Railroad Park in Donnellson at 8:30 a.m. for about three hours of cleanup, followed by a pizza lunch at the American Legion.

Call Donnellson city hall at 835-5714 to sign up, or show up at the park that morning.   Bags, gloves and safety vests will be provided.

This event counts as community service hours for high school students.
