HANNIBAL, MO. -- The impeachment hearing for Hannibal Fire Chief Tim Carter has been set.
The Hannibal Courier Post reports it will be June 29 at the Ralls County Courthouse in New London.
Carter has been on paid administrative leave from the Hannibal Fire Department since last November.
If the judge finds in favor of the impeachment, Carter would be fired from his job as chief and would lose his pension.
Under the administrative leave, Carter still is getting his city salary and will be paid through December first of this year. He then would resign, and would be eligible to collect his pension two years after his resignation.
Carter has also asked for an administrative hearing in front of the judge, but that date has not been set.
Results of a no confidence vote taken by union firefighters have not been released yet, either. As KHQA reported Wednesday, March 24, the union president says he will release them to the Hannibal Fire Board first.
