GRIGGSVILLE, ILL. -- Some good news for the Griggsville Illinois Fire Department as senator Dick Durbin says the department has been awarded a FEMA grant for operations and safety.
The department is getting just over $47,000.
Chief Larry Bradshaw says the money will be used to buy bunker gear for the 22 members of the department.
This is part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program that supplies homeland security money to departments across the U-S.
