Area outdoorsmen and women geared up for warmer weather at GameMaster's annual Spring Classic.

The sporting goods store holds the event each year to prepare hunters and fishermen for the upcoming turkey season and summer fishing opportunities.

Folks were able to take advantage of Turkey talk and crappie seminars to help folks brush up on their skills.

Others like Cooper Suter were able to get their fall hunting trophies scored by specialists in the business.

GameMasters Co-Owner Don Taylor said, "This time of year you're tired of being inside and want to get outside and meet up with friends. A lot of hunting stories get shared between customers and so it's a fun time at GameMasters."

Saturday brought in some big name hunting professionals to Gamemasters. Folks were able to visit in person with Don and Kandi Kisky - the stars of 'Whitetail Freaks.' which is the number one show on the Outdoor Channel.

And former professional baseball pitchers, turned hunting enthusiasts, Matt Duff of the Cardinals and Tom Martin of the Braves were on hand to autograph baseballs and talk about their new reality hunting series called Buck Commander.

KHQA's Melissa Shriver asked Duff what its like to move from the mound to the tree stand.

Duff said, "It's a little different. You spend all your life playing baseball and then actually because of our love of the outdoors we started Buck Commander. I don't consider myself a pro hunter. We all have a passion for hunting and got together with former teammates and guys I used to play against and brought it to the spotlight. We want to entertain people and show them how much fun it can be to hunt."

You can catch the Buck Commander series this July on the Outdoor Channel.

The Spring Classic runs through Sunday.
