FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (AP) -- The criminal division at Fort Leonard Wood is investigating the death of a soldier whose body was discovered in his home.

The fort announced in a news release Monday that 30-year-old Spc. Phillip Clark Kidd of Oakboro, N.C., was found dead Saturday morning.

Kidd was assigned to the 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade.

Post spokesman Mike Alley says Kidd's death was not the result of a training accident.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that further details were not released Monday.
