Preventing the Closing of Our State Police District Station
MACOMB, ILL. -- The following is a press release from the Macomb area CQLAC:
On Thursday, April 8, at 12:00 p.m. Representative Rich Myers and Senator John Sullivan will join other CQLAC members in a special meeting at the Macomb City Hall Community Room to provide information on what we need to do to save our local State Police District Station from being closed due to budget cuts.
Other CQLAC members representing law enforcement, WIU and local residents will provide information on how vital the State Police are in preserving local quality of life.
Alcohol enforcement around WIU, traffic enforcement (zero fatalities last year), and support for other local law enforcement agencies (the recent Farm King incident, for example) will be discussed.
Concerned citizens are requested to join CQLAC members at the meeting regarding this important issue.
