QUINCY, ILL. (AP) -- Good news for Illinois veterans.
State officials have dropped plans to increase monthly fees for residents at four veterans homes in Illinois, including the one in Quincy.
The increase would have been about $400 a month.
Governor Pat Quinn has directed the fee increase be postponed until further notice.
In March, state officials said monthly "maintenance fees" of $929 would jump to $1,329 starting in July.
