QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy City Council only heard from one person regarding the city's annual budget.
The council held a public hearing Monday night for its new fiscal year, which begins May 1st.
But only one person appeared to speak.
The proposed budget is about 28 million dollars.
Quincy projects a one-point-four-million dollar drop in revenue for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.
The council heard the first reading of next year's budget Monday night.
The third and final reading will take place at the April 26th meeting.
In other action, the council passed a resolution to allow the city to apply for public transportation financial assistance for Quincy Transit Lines. It expects to receive about 2.9 million dollars in federal and state aid.
