FORT MADISON, IA. -- The body of 22 year-old Ray Charles Newell Dean of Keokuk has been found.

The Fort Madison Police Department tells KHQA Dean's body was found around 10:30 Thursday morning by a couple of fishermen.

The body was found in the Mississippi near 2Oth Street in Fort Madison.

For the past two months, Dean's family has been roaming the shores of the Mississippi River hoping to recover his body and find some closure in his disappearance.

He fell through the ice on the river near Fort Madison on February 7th.

At that time police and fire crews searched for several days without finding his body.

Since then it's been the family doing the searching...several times a week, including a large search this past Saturday.
