HANNIBAL, MO. -- We now know the identity of the Hannibal woman found murdered in her home yesterday. Sandy Fugate, 32, was scheduled to be married this weekend. Her mother found Fugate inside her home in the 36 hundred block of Iowa Street in Hannibal on Thursday.

Marion County Coroner Peggy Porter has confirmed the death is being considered a homicide. The cause of death appears to be a gunshot wound.

We also have learned that Fugate and Calvin Duane Pettey had gotten a marriage license in Marion County, and were planning to get married on Saturday. Fugate had a child from a previous relationship.

Pastor James Bridges was scheduled to perform the wedding ceremony at First Assembly of God church on Saturday. He told us today that he had counseled the couple as they planned their life together. He said they seemed like a great couple, and although Sandy was nervous about the details of her wedding, she also was very excited about it.

The James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is handling arrangements.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 19th from 6-8 PM.  The funeral will be Tuesday, April 20th at 10 AM.  Both will be held at James O'Donnell Funeral Home at 302 S. 5th in Hannibal.

An autopsy is planned for Friday for a 32-year-old Hannibal woman.

Hannibal police say the woman was found dead in a home in the 3600 block of Iowa Street this afternoon.

Detectives were on the scene to assist in the death investigation.

The victim's name is not being released pending notification of family members.

Marion County Coroner Peggy Porter told the Hannibal Courier Post that the death may be suspicious.

Porter even alluded to a possible gunshot wound, but wouldn't comment on where the wound was or if it was self-inflicted.
