WHEATON, ILL. (AP) -- A group of suburban Chicago students are the winners of a statewide radon video contest.
The teens from Wheaton North High School won a $1,000 prize and their school got $2,000.
The winning 60-second video shows a menacing-looking ninja trying to get into a house.
An announcer says you wouldn't let a ninja into your home but you might be letting in a potentially deadly radioactive gas - radon.
Health officials say radon is the leading cause of lung cancer for nonsmokers. Its health risks can be reduced by testing homes and installing a radon-reduction system.
The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the American Lung Association in Illinois were among the contest sponsors.
The winner was picked from more than 30 entries by online votes and judging.
