QUINCY, ILL. -- The following is a press release from the Department of Police, City of Quincy:

As has been widely disseminated through the local media, President Obama will be holding a Town Hall Meeting at the Oakley Lindsay Center on Wednesday, April 28^th, 2010.  The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 4:00 p.m.  Due to security concerns, there will be numerous street closures in the immediate area of the event.  The following streets will be closed to parking beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28^th, 2010:  

3^rd Street, Maine to State

York Street, 3^rd to 4^th 

4^th Street, State to Maine

Kentucky Street, 3^rd to 4^th        

Maiden Lane, 3^rd to 4^th                        

Beginning at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28^th, 2010, the following streets will be closed to all traffic.  

3^rd Street, Maine to State

4^th Street, State to Maine

York Street, 3^rd to 4^th

Kentucky Street, 3^rd to 4^th

Maiden Lane, 3^rd to 4^th 

All through truck traffic should follow any posted detour routes. 

Any vehicles parked in these areas after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning will be towed.  There may also be additional parking restrictions in other areas of the city and temporary street closures.
