Many people in the Tri-States were excited to see the President visit our area.
Others planned events in opposition to President Barack Obama, his views, and his actions so far as President during this visit to the Tri-States.

-- Thank you Obama for shutting down the highway workers and costing them thier $300 pay for the day they could have worked! They have families to feed! I think your trip is a joke and costing us taxpayers a whole lot of money!!!!!!
-- I've been wondering this myself. They posted it at work yesterday so the people that have to travel 36 can make other arrangements, but it said all the way to the IL line, and from 10 - 4. Which means the kids that ride the buses at South Shelby are gonna be late getting home.
KHQA investigated this comment and were able to touch base with Shelby, Clarence and Monroe City schools. We were told that no students were late getting home.
-- Siemens employees get rest of day off.
-- I assume you will have a reporter at the conference at the Lindsay Center. There are two (2) questions I would like President Obama to answer.
1) Couldn't the money spent on this visit to the midwest have been better spent on education, transportation or some other infastructure need?
2) Why are taxpayer dollars being spent for him to campaign in the midwest? Thank you.
-- I wonder if President Obama realized he drove right by one of the ARRA funded projects in Missouri. You can see the trackhoes working from Hwy 36. Clarence received aprox. $3 million in stimulus money to rehabilitate the sewer system.
