ADAMS CO., ILL. -- The following is a press release from the American Red Cross of Adams County:
For over 91 years, the American Red Cross has been a hero for thousands of people throughout Adams County, lending aid during times of small and large scale disasters, seeing to the welfare of military families, and providing citizens with lifesaving CPR and First Aid skills. Now, over 100 businesses, organizations, schools and individuals have shown that they are the true ‘Heroes” of the American Red Cross. These energetic and creative groups of “Heroes” have helped us exceed our 2010 Hero Campaign goal of $37,500, raising nearly $50,000. The Hero Campaign, an annual campaign, in its 7th year is crucial to providing funding to ensure the vital services of the Adams County Chapter remain strong.
“The community can be thankful for the generosity of individuals and businesses in creating a very successful 2010 Heroes Campaign. It would not have happened without the dedicated efforts of our Heroes Team that worked to contact the many givers to this years’ effort,” stated Mike Lavery one of the campaign Co-Chairs along with Jim Rinella. “We feel very appreciative to all of those who generously participated and made it a success. People of this area always respond when they can see the need.”
