Polls are open in Bowling Green Tuesday.
Voters are deciding a runoff election between two candidates for Third Ward Alderman.
Incumbent Mary Grover and former Mayor David Koester each got 64 votes in the April 6 election.
The Hannibal Courier-Post reports state law would have let the winner be decided with a coin flip or draw of straws, but neither Grover nor Koester wanted such a lottery.
The report also says it will cost the city of Bowling Green $500 to print ballots, pay election judges and advertise the contest.
The only polling place, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, will be open until 7 p.m.
