Get Fit, Get Healthy Tri-States segment
KHQA's Rajah Maples continues her look at health in the Tri-States with a question that many women ask about.
In this Get Fit, Get Healthy Tri-States, we focus on the optimal amount of exercise for middle aged women to keep off weight.
You might have heard a study a couple of months ago about the amount of exercise needed to prevent that middle-aged spread.
Rajah asked that very question to two local experts.
Cheryl Loatsch with Cheryl Loatsch Studio recommends one hour of exercise per day for women during the perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause stages.
Rajah also asked for advice for middle-aged women wanting to start exercising.
Anne Rupert said, "I definitely would like to emphasize... don't give up too soon, if you don't see results in the first 2 through 4 weeks don't give up. This is a lifestyle change. You didn't get like this overnight. It didn't come on in 2 weeks. it took awhile to get where you are, so don't expect it to go away right away."
In Thursday's Get Fit, Get Healthy Tip, we'll talk salt.
Why should you be so concerned about it, and how much is too much?
We'll ask the experts.
In the meantime, Rajah wants to hear from you. What questions do you have about getting healthier? Email her at rmaples@khqa.com.
