QUINCY, ILL. -- What should you do with an old or unused car seat? Safe Kids Adams County had an answer for that Saturday.

It collected and disposed old and unused car seats in the Kohl's parking lot Saturday morning.

Those who turned in their car seats received a $10 gift certificate to Kohl's.

Safe Kids Adams County reminds you that car seats may be unsafe or unusable if it's more than 6 years old; if it's been in a crash; was purchased used; if it's recall status is unknown; the seat's label is unreadable or missing or if it has visible cracks or deformities.
