QUINCY, ILL. -- Arrests have been made in the vandalism of the water slide at Wavering Aquatic Center in Quincy.

Five teenagers were arrested for criminal damage over $10,000.

They are:

17 year old Wade Foster

18 year old Daniel Haschemeyer

18 year old Samuel Kragel

18 year old Jesse Holtschlag

18 year old Dalton Tappe

The Quincy Park District says the damage to the slide is between 20 and 25 thousand dollars.

The damage happened sometime last month.

It was found April 22nd, but the Park District believes the damage happened a few weeks before it was found.

We reported earlier that some sort of cooking or vegetable oil had been poured down the length of the slide.

The liquid also damaged the pool where the slide empties into it.

The pool is still expected to open in time for summer.
