QUINCY, ILL. -- Blessing Hospital wrapped up a week of celebration by honoring achievements of its employees this year.

As a part of National Hospital Week, staff will honor five departments for their improvement projects the past year.

The Hospice and Palliative Care department was honored with this year's Power of Partnership Award.

This year's hospital week also put special emphasis on the hospital's 135th anniversary this year.

When Blessing opened 135 years ago, it was a 19-room community hospital to provide care to the sick and destitute.

It is now a 235 bed regional facility that is licensed for as many as 400.
