QUINCY, ILL. -- In Monday morning's Get Fit, Get Healthy Tri-States, we discuss the role of nutrition on women's hormones.

You often hear about how you should eat healthy. But here's another incentive for all of you women out there.

The foods you eat definitely play a part on your hormones, whether you're dealing with monthly cycles or menopause.

Personal Trainer Anne Rupert with Advance Physical Fitness says, "If you're not nourishing your body with your fresh fruits and vegetables, your lean meats, low-sugar, low-sodium intakes, your hormones are all over the place. It can cause a lot of bloat in women. When we talk PMS, it can send you into that down mood with no energy, 'I feel bloated,' 'I don't want to do anything,' 'I'm unmotivated.' If you intake too much sugar, you are going to have highs and come down low. So food is definitely a huge partaking of your hormone balance."

And speaking of sugar, why is it so bad for us anyway? That's exactly what we'll ask our local experts Tuesdasy morning on Tri-States This Morning.
