WEST POINT, IA. -- Iowa Governor Chet Culver's Choosing a Better Iowa Tour came through West Point Friday, May 21st.

The governor stopped at the Corner Tap in West Point to gain support for re-election.

He and Lieutenant Governor Patty Judge had already gone to 42 other cities earlier in the week before hitting southeast Iowa.

Culver says Iowa is one of the states that is leading the economic turn around. He says he wouldn't change positions with any other governor in the country.

KHQA asked him what voters can look forward to if he is re-elected come November 2nd.

"I want to build on our strengths in renewable energy and education, advance manufacturing and infrastructure to create jobs. I want Iowa to be the best connected state in America. That's what every business, large and small, is looking for, a well connected, modern, 21st century infrastructure," said Culver (D).

Here are some other goals Culver has in mind for his next term.

He wants to offer pre-school education to every four year old in the state.

And he wants to increase the amount of power produced from renewable resources from 20% to 30% throughout the state.
