CHICAGO (AP) -- A state fund has distributed more than $11 million to the families of servicemembers who have been deployed abroad, and Gov. Pat Quinn says the work isn't done.

At a news conference in Chicago Sunday, Quinn encouraged residents to keep donating to the Illinois Military Family Relief Fund.

The fund provides grants to families of reservists and National Guard members who are called to active duty.

Taxpayers can make donations to the fund through a voluntary check off on Illinois income tax forms.

More than 35 states have passed legislation modeled after Illinois' plan.

Quinn also proclaimed Sunday as Jack "Butch" Pascoe Day.

Pascoe served in the Army National Guard for more than 25 years.

He's been with the military family fund since 2006.
