HANNIBAL, MO. --
That's why more than 25 members of law enforcement from around northeast missouri participated in Tuesday morning's torch run in Hannibal.

The event gives the officers from several different branches of law enforcement to show their community support.

This is also the 25th year for the law enforcement torch run in Missouri.

Besides the Hannibal Police Department, officers from the Marion and Monroe county sheriff's offices, the water patrol and the Missouri DNR also participated.

To challenge the runners, the usual quarter of a mile run was extended to 2 miles this year.
