KEOKUK, IA. -- Time is about up to save the Keokuk Friendly House. The building at 326 6th Street is set to be demolished by July 1, 2010. But the Keokuk mayor and others are want to try and save the landmark.
Others want to save just the stone from the building.
The city has received three quotes to demolish the building that range from 10 thousand to just over 45 thousand dollars. The Keokuk council has budgeted just 10 thousand dollars for the demolition.
