The Red Cross needs blood more than ever during the summer months because people tend to forget about giving during vacation season.

To meet that need the Adams County Chapter of the American Red Cross hosted its bi-annual twelve hours of giving blood drive.

Organizers say that every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood.

You still have time to roll up your sleeves and give the gift of life.

The Red Cross is open till 7 pm (tonight) Thursday and volunteers say no appointment is necessary.

You can also give blood every Thursday at the Red Cross Facility on North 24th street in Quincy.
