Quincy power outage

QUINCY, ILL. -- UPDATE: Tuesday, June 1st at 4:37 p.m.

The power outage lasted from 2:41 p.m. until 3:40 p.m. and affected 957 customers on the south-east side of Quincy.

Ameren CIPS tell's KHQA that a squirrel got caught in a transformer near South 28th and Cabot Road.

The problem has been remedied.

ORIGINAL STORY: Tuesday, June 1st at 2:50 p.m.

There was a power outage from Broadway to State Street on the East end of Quincy. The outage is no longer affecting KHQA's broadcasting.

KHQA's Jim Whitfield followed an Ameren CIPS worker and found that the outage was possibly due to an interruption at a substation on the East end of town.
