LOUISIANA, MO. -- Visit the beautiful historic Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, Missouri the first weekend in June and step back in time.
The Louisiana Historic Preservation Association is hosting cemetery tours on Saturday, June 5 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, June 6 from noon-4 p.m.
Tour tickets will be on sale at the site for $5/person. Each day from noon-2 p.m., visitors may purchase a box lunch for $5 to enjoy at the top of the cemetery hill overlooking the MississippiRiver.
Visitors to the cemetery will be entertained by former PIke County residents. Returning to life will be: Gov. Ratliff Boon, (a cousin of Daniel), Lafayette Tinsley (tobacco merchant), Sheriff William Henry Harrison Glenn, milliner Susannah Barr, Dr. Eric Cunningham, the Irwin sisters, and Col. Clarence and Gussie Buell. Actors appearing will include Brent Engel, Carl Schmidt, Dr. Ned Glenn (portraying his great grandfather), Paulette Powelson, Joe Siefkus, Sue Warzocha, Ann Handford and Chuck Hoffman.
