The Quincy Police joined forces with the Adams County Sheriff's Department and the Illinois State Police for a good cause.
QUINCY, ILL. --
The officers laced up their sneakers for the annual Special Olympics torch run.

Chief Rob Copley led the charge carrying the torch for the first half mile of the run.

Across the country, law enforcement is the biggest fundraiser for Special Olympics.

Monday's 22 1/2  mile run started at Transitions in Quincy and ended at the Hancock County line where the torch was passed over to another law enforcement group.

Eventually it will make it's way to Bloomington on Friday.
