The first annual bed races held today at the Sunset Home Nursing Facility in Quincy helped raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease.

Onlookers cheered as three person teams raced down the parking lot .

Mayor John Spring raised and lowered the flags to tell the teams when to start.

The event helped raise 1,500 dollars.

"Snooze you Lose" team finished first and was awarded a trophy by Mayor Spring.

Because of the success, Sunset Home says they plan on hosting the race again next year.
