The Tri State Development Summit is ready to celebrate the completion of the Chicago to Kansas City Expressway next month.

The original idea for an expressway to run from Chicago to Kansas City started back in 1952.

And now on July 10th, officials from Illinois, Missouri and Iowa will celebrate the completion of the four lane highway.

The day's event will begin in Macon Missouri with a ribbon cutting that is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of US 36 and Highway 63.

The caravan will proceed east towards Hannibal with several stops along the way.
