Since 1998, Quincy Hospitality House has opened its doors to more than 6,000 people needing lodging when they or a loved one was accessing healthcare in Quincy.
In July, the Quincy Hospitality House will celebrate National Hospitality House Week by opening its doors for community open house on July 21 and has partnered with two Quincy businesses for special fundraising events during the month.
- On Monday, July 19th: From 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. ten percent of all food sales at Buffalo Wild Wings, 6120 Broadway, will be donated to the Quincy Hospitality House.
- On Wednesday, July 21st: Community open house at Quincy Hospitality House, 1129 Oak Street from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Come for tours, refreshments and register to win one of several door prizes.
- Throughout July: Emerald City Jewelers, at 33rd & Broadway, will donate ten percent of retail purchases to the Quincy Hospitality House. Just mention Quincy Hospitality House.
“The open house and other fundraising events allow community members to learn more about the services we offer while also supporting our mission to provide affordable lodging,” said QHH board president Joann Reichert. “With one in four guests being a repeat customer, we are confident that the Quincy Hospitality House has been a blessing for patients and their families.”
The Quincy Hospitality House provides a peaceful, home-like setting featuring four private guest rooms, two full bathrooms, a kitchen and living room.
The cost to rent a room is $20 per night with volunteers on duty seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. including holidays. However, the house is more than just a place to sleep. Past guests report that the accommodations provided comfort to their hospitalized loved ones and reduced their own stress during a medical crisis.

“The volunteer made my bed for me. I was just so tired. It was nice of her. Having someone you love so much in the hospital can be so very stressful, thank you so much.”
“I would have had to leave early if you guys weren't here. Thank you for giving me extra time with my Grandpa.”
A non-profit, volunteer organization, the Quincy Hospitality House was established by Blessing Hospital, Blessing Volunteers in partnership and the Adams County Medical Society Alliance.
It is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors, volunteer staff, and the Blessing Hospital Volunteer Services Department.
The Quincy Hospitality House is a proud member of the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses.
