QUINCY, ILL. -- The following is a press release from the Department of Police, City of Quincy:

Recently, citizens in our community have received door-to-door solicitations from individuals representing Pinnacle Security Systems. This company sells home security systems, business alarm systems, door alarms, alarm monitoring and motion sensors.

Even though this is a legitimate company, many of the online customer reviews are poor. It was reported that salespeople use high pressure tactics to sell the products. It was also reported that customers paid for services they did not need and that services did not work as they had been advertised.

Be alert if you are approached by an aggressive sales representative. Refuse high pressure appeals and remember that reputable businesses won't push you to buy their product. Don't fall victim to high pressure tactics from door-to-door sales reps.

If you have any questions or for more information, contact the Pro-Act Office at the Quincy Police Department at 228-4485.
