MACOMB, ILL. (AP) -- A western Illinois paint recycling program is to resume after it was forced to end because of lack of state funding.
Chad Braatz is the coordinator of the Partners for Paint program.
Braatz says the state will spend about $20,000 a year for the program.
The goal is to collect unused paint and send it to be incinerated in St. Louis.
He says he hopes the program can restart with a collection drive next month in Galesburg.
The program covers ten counties in western Illinois.
Braatz says in its five years, the program has collected nearly 600,000 pounds of paint.
