KEOKUK, IOWA -- Two years after the flood took out the South Side Boat Club house in Keokuk, good things are finally coming.

An open house was held Saturday to celebrate the opening of the new facility at Hubinger Landing.

People were able to purchase bricks that will be used for a new steak pit.

Getting a new building up is just step one of getting everything back up and running. Boat Club president Kathy Farris says this couldn't be done without the support of the community.

"It's hotter than Hades but it's heartwarming. It's heartwarming the flow of volunteers, all of the new faces and those that gave up and they're here now. And they believe so its the inspiration just to have these people here," Farris said.

The boat club hopes to have the new facility open by Mid-October.
