CHICAGO (AP) -- Politicians are gearing up for the Illinois State Fair as the fall election quickly approaches.
Governor's Day for Democrats is Aug. 18 and Republican Day is Aug. 19.
The political parties rally at the fair on the director's lawn on their appointed days.
Candidates mingle with supporters. And, there are plenty of speeches.
This is a big election year with all the state's constitutional offices up for grabs, including governor.
President Barack Obama's old Senate seat is also in the mix.
The fair starts with a preview night Aug. 12 and runs through Aug. 22.
Headliners include Cheap Trick with Blondie and Lady Antebellum.
