Impeachment charges dropped against Hannibal fire chief

HANNIBAL, MO. -- According to the Hannibal Courier Post, the Hannibal City Council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to drop impeachment charges against Fire Chief Tim Carter.

Carter will remain on suspension, at least until an administrative hearing before a judge. That hearing has not been set.

Carter, 39, has been a Hannibal firefighter for 17 years and was appointed chief in September 2006.
