QUINCY, ILL. -- UPDATE: July 23 at 10:24 a.m.

KHQA has been told that the horses have been placed in a temporary home to rest and will soon be taken to a permanent home.

When the weather is 90 plus degrees outside, folks tend to stay indoors where there's air conditioning.

Many animals are not so lucky.

The Quincy Humane Society notified KHQA Thursday, that three horses were removed from a situation where they were suffering heat exhaustion and had no access to food, water or shelter.

There are two mares and a filly and they are quarter crosses.

They are looking for a good home for these animals.

The horses are halter broke and possibly able to ridden.

If you are interested in adoption, vetting will be provided and possibly transportation.

Contact Jennifer at 217-440-4479.

These horses are immediately available for adoption!
