NEW LONDON, MO. -- Crews have been working more than 24 hours to help clean up a tanker that rolled over. The Co-Op propane tank tipped off Route V between Business 61 and Route T.  That caused the tank to leak. Today fire crews flushed out propane that had spilled. Extra help was needed to protect firefighters who worked on that spill. They had battled the heat since Wednesday afternoon.

"We've had several people from the community that's come out and dropped off water, dropped off snacks and food, stuff like that. We went to town and got some things we needed. I believe the Baptist Church in New Longon brought some stuff out. Some drinks and stuff like that for us. I think we're in pretty good shape right now. Main thing is we got Marion county abmulance that's re-habbing our guys for us. Just checking them out making sure everything's okay," said New London Fire Chief Brian Lathrom.

The driver of the tanker was forty-eight year old Yancy Yakes. He was taken to Blessing Hospital.
