QUINCY, IL. -- Work on the Kroc Center continues in Quincy.

Monday morning a 62 foot tower was put in place at the site.

The tower will eventually be the home of what's called the Beacon of Hope.

It will be an inverted cone with lights inside of it.

Major Wurtz says that the message behind the beacon is hope for a better life, which is what the center will represent to the community.

The entire structure is 96 thousand square feet.

The center is expected to completed in June of next year.
