HANNIBAL, MO -- A week has passed since tremendous flash floods shook the town of Hannibal.
Today, we visited area businesses to see how the cleanup is going.
We stopped by Building Blocks Daycare on Lindell this afternoon.
If you remember, flood waters and inches of mud spread throughout the building.
Today, new coats of paint cover the walls...but signs of flood water can still be seen on the floors and furniture.
The daycare's owner says the flood left her with 50-thousand dollars in losses.
Marion County Emergency Management Director John Hark says he walked door to door with FEMA members throughout Hannibal this week.
They made preliminary assessments on individual homes and businesses damaged in the flood.
At the moment, he's still uncertain if Marion County will receive a disaster declaration.
He says if the county were to receive one, FEMA crews would be back for a more thorough investigation.
