KINGDOM CITY, MO. -- The following is a press release:
Great Rivers Council, National Jamboree Boy Scout Troop 1119 departed for National Jamboree on Friday July 23 at 8:30 a.m. from the Heart of Missouri Tourism Center in Kingdom City, MO.
Thirty-six Scouts and four adult leaders flew to Washington, D.C. and toured for three days before going to the National Jamboree at Ft. A.P. Hill in Virginia.
This Jamboree will celebrate 100 years of Scouting in the United States.
These local Scouts represent the Great Rivers Council and will join over 40,000 Scouts from all 50 states.

Doug Bross and Connor Doyle, Boy Scouts in the Palmyra/Hannibal area raised over $4,200 each by selling Boy Scout popcorn. Half of the their sales paid for the cost of the trip.
