MACOMB, ILL. -- The Illinois State Police (ISP) today announced the retirement of Master Sergeant Michael J. Inman. Master Sergeant Inman’s retirement date is July 31, 2010 and a retirement celebration will be held at the District 14 Headquarters in Macomb on July 29 beginning at 11:30 a.m. At the time of his retirement Master Sergeant Inman was a Platoon Supervisor for ISP District 14.
Master Sergeant Inman began his career in Law Enforcement with the McDonough County Sheriff's Office in 1981. In 1986 he graduated from the ISP Academy and worked in District 7. In 1996 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in District 14. In 1998 he served as a co-director of the West Central Illinois Task Force. In 2002 he transferred to back to District 14 and was promoted to Master Sergeant in 2007.
During his distinguished law enforcement career, Master Sergeant Inman also contributed greatly to his community. Inman’s off duty contributions to the community throughout his career included: Macomb City Council Member, member of the Developmental Council of McDonough District Hospital, Executive Board Member of the Western Illinois University Performing Arts Society, and commitment to St. Paul’s Church.
