SCHUYLER CO., ILL. -- The following news release was received from Schuyler County, Illinois Sheriff Don Schieferdecker:

Schuyler County, Illinois Sheriff Don Schieferdecker would like to announce that Edwin C. Miller, who walked away from his rural home near Browning, IL last Sunday night, was located late last night (07-29-10) at Iowa 80 truck stop in Walcott, Iowa.

The Sheriff spoke to him by phone and Mr. Miller thanked all who had been searching for him.  Mr. Miller advised he had a lot of things going on in his life and just needed to get away to think things through.  Mr. Miller said he never thought things would go so far (meaning an intensive manhunt).

Mr. Miller was picked up by his son and taken to his home in Michigan.

Sheriff Schieferdecker would like to thank the searchers, Mike Paisley for the plane, the public and especially the media who got the story out there to help locate Mr. Miller.  Sheriff Schieferdecker believes the news media made a huge contribution to locating this man.
