MENDON, ILL. -- Saturday marked the third day of the 69th Annual Adams County Fair. For fifteen dollars, carnival goers could ride any and every ride up until five o'clock Saturday evening.

One of the most anticipated attractions of the weekend? A ferris wheel, owned by Michael Jackson. Once part of the King of Pop's Neverland Ranch, it now sits at the fairgrounds for all to ride. Having one of longest lines throughout the day, most riders were pretty excited about it.

Carnival workers from Archway Amusements were in need of a new ferris wheel. They'd heard about an auction in California that turned out to have items owned by Michael Jackson. In the end, they came out the successful bidder.

"They brought it back and tore it apart. Gave it a lot of paint, lighting and electrical work, and it looks beautiful now. I think it's a great ferris wheel," said Randy Frese, the Adams County Fair Director.

Another special guest took stage just after 8:00 p.m. Saturday. The country group, Lonestar, performed in front of an estimated five thousand people.

"What a great group that's had a great career and we're really looking forward to it. We hear a lot of good and wonderful reports about how good of a show they put on for the people. So we're really excited for it," said Frese.

Lonestar ended its performace just after 9:30 p.m. The Adams County Fair goes until Wednesday, August 4.
