DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- A group has formed aimed at removing Iowa Supreme Court justices who supported last year's ruling that legalized gay marriage in the state.
Common Sense PAC spokesman Dennis Guth says the group was formed in May and has been placing black plywood signs along highways, encouraging voters to oppose three judges who are up for retention votes this November.
Chief Justice Marsha Ternus, David Baker, Michael Streit joined the unanimous ruling that threw out an Iowa law that allowed marriage only between a man and woman.
The group had spent about $2,200 as of July 15. It's financed by its chairman, John Wacker of rural Garner.
