QUINCY, ILL. -- After months of trying to reach a contract agreement, the City of Quincy and the union representing the police department patrol officers and sergeants will go to binding arbitration.
Both the administration of the city and police department, along with the police union are pointing fingers at each other as to who's to blame for the breakdown in negotiations.
It's not know when the arbitrator will hear the case and issue their ruling.
Under Illinois law, police and firefighters cannot go on strike and walk a picket line.
