Broken tree branch snapped wires

QUINCY, ILL -- Some  homes and businesses on  State Street, South 24th and Chestnut in Quincy lost power early Wednesday morning.

Sometime after 3:00 a.m. a large tree branch broke off and snapped a power line in front of the Quincy Country Club.

Quincy fire crews blocked off the area until Ameren crews could fix the problem.

According the Ameren outage map more than 200 customers were affected.

But by the 5:30 in the morning power had been restored to all of those affected areas.
